Twentyone09 has just launched their range of grippy socks, your background is in the beauty industry, where did the business idea come from?
When I started reformer Pilates for the first time in 2024 I had no idea grip socks were a thing - let alone essential for class! My instructor supplied me with a pair before I headed home to find my own only to realised the options were super limited, If I wanted socks that weren’t plain, boring, or widely overpriced (£25 for a pair) I was out of luck, That’s when the idea struck me: what if I made my own?

Are they just for Reformer Pilates?
Absolutely not, we have 2 ranges in the grip socks we have the light grip range designed for all your mat and floor work. When you don’t need an ultimate grip but still want some traction, our soft grip design offers just the right amount of support.
Then the ultimate grip range designed for Reformer workouts where stability is key. These socks are engineered to provide superior traction from heel to toe keeping you firmly grounded, enabling you to execute movements with confidence and precision
How do I care for my grippy socks so they last as long as possible?
Wash them inside out, wash at a low heat, never tumble dry, air dry
What is next for 2109 as a brand?
We want to start getting together our summer range and styles, originally when I brought the range out it was to fix a problem with Reformer but since starting the journey we realise so many other sectors need grippy socks so we will be hoping to venture out more and bring the ranges to lots more sports and individuals. Lots of studios have shown interest in being stockist also so we will hopefully see this come to life too
